A Great First Week!

Your children are awesome! In spite of the brutal heat in our classrooms, your children worked and thought hard, listened well and had a fantastic start to the school year!

We spent a lot of time getting to know each other with games and activities, began a few projects for Open House, really thought about some of our CORE values, learned a bit about what math class will look like and began learning how to use the computers. Wow! that was a lot!

Thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend the parent information night. Mrs. Cryer said it is by far the best attendance she has had since she began holding the meetings six years ago. We will be sending home a packet of papers that were passed out at the meeting. Since we did not take attendence (oops!) we will be sending them home to all students. If you already have them, just recycle them or keep them for future reference.

We understand we gave out a LOT of information and may have overwhelmed some of you. No worries there! Feel free to contact either of us when any questions or concerns arise. As you will see, we use a lot of technology in our classrooms. Understand that we understand many students do not have internet or computers at home. That is perfectly fine. Your children will not have homework that requires a computer. They will have plenty of time to use their computers in the classroom!

It looks like the upcoming week will be much cooler, so your children (and teachers) will be able to think even harder and learn even more!
