Welcome to 3rd Grade!
We are working hard to get ready for your first day and cannot wait to see you!
This year will be a little different because you will have two teachers. Mrs. Cryer will be teaching reading and writing, while Mr. Kafkas (Mr. K) will teach math and social studies. We will be working together as a team and often we will work on projects together, with each of us teaching a different part.
Each morning students will begin in their homeroom. Mr. K's students will start their day with math and Mrs. Cryer's will begin with reading. On days 1, 2 and 3, students will stay in their homeroom for writing and social studies. On days 4, 5, and 6, we will swap rooms around 10:15 and stay for the rest of the day. That way Mr. K's class can have writing and Mrs. Cryer's class can have social studies.
It certainly sounds confusing now, but it will be really easy! Once students get the hang of it (in about two days or so) there will not be any problems!
This is going to be a fantastic year of learning and fun. Mr. K and Mrs. Cryer both LOVE using technology and we have some plans for some amazing projects.
Be sure to come to school ready for hard work while we are getting to know each other and come together as a team.
